I Have a Problem With my Order

 

I have not received my item

If you have not received your item within 14 days of order confirmation, please contact email support: [email protected]

I have received the wrong item

If you have received the wrong item, please follow the steps below, ‘My item has arrived damaged’.

The buyer must notify email support within 5 working days of receiving a wrong item; otherwise, a return/refund will not be possible.

 

My item has arrived damaged

If your item has arrived damaged—i.e., been damaged before/during shipping—please follow the steps below:

 

Step 1 Within 14 days of your item delivery date, please email [email protected] to give us your order information.

Step 2 Save the original packaging.

Step 3Take photos of the damaged piece and packaging. Please email these photos to [email protected]

Step 4 -  Aimee Birch Art will contact you to discuss next steps.

These steps also apply if you have received the wrong item.

 

How do I provide proof of damage?

If your item was damaged during shipping, please email me with detailed photos of the package and damage so that I may begin the insurance claim process.

The buyer must notify me within 5 working days of receiving the item about any damage; otherwise, a return/refund will not be possible.

I have changed my mind about my purchase

For your peace of mind, I offer buyers a 14-day cooling off period after the purchase of any item. Within this period, orders can be returned, or cancelled if they have not yet been shipped.

If you change your mind after an item has been shipped—even if it has not yet been delivered—you will have to wait to receive the item before it can be returned.

Please see below, ‘Returns/Exchanges’, for more information about returning an item.

Returns/Exchanges

 

Do you accept returns?

Returns are accepted on all original pieces for a period of up to 14 days after the purchase was made. After this point, the buyer has 3 days to ship out the item if they have not already done so*. Note that these timings do not apply to damaged/defective items; for this, please see above, 'My item has arrived damaged'.

*Please do not ship the item without first contacting email support ([email protected]). If you do not notify me of your intent to return the item within 14 days of receipt, or you do not ship the work within 3 days of notifying me, you will NOT be eligible for a refund. (Some exceptions will apply. Please contact me for an assessment of your specific situation.)

To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition that the buyer received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Unless there is proof of damage upon arrival, the buyer is responsible for ensuring that the item is returned in good condition, and is liable for any loss or damages thereto.

When the item has been successfully returned, the buyer will receive a full refund within 5 business days.

If the item is not returned in good condition, the buyer will be notified, and a refund will not be issued.

 

How do I return my item?

To return your item, please follow the steps below:

Step 1  Within 14 days of your item delivery date, please contact my email support at [email protected] to give me your order information and the reason for wanting to return the item.

Step 2 – Repackage the item using the original packaging materials. If you have already disposed of the original packaging, you will be responsible for purchasing similar acid free packaging materials to send the artwork back safely and securely. Please contact me for advice if needed.

Step 3 – Email [email protected] to complete the return process.

Once the piece safely reaches me, I will process your return and the amount owed will be refunded to your original source of payment in the same currency (minus shipping costs and international customs fees, if any).

The buyer will be responsible for paying for their own shipping costs for returning their item. Shipping costs and customs fees/import taxes are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, any customs fees/import taxes required for me to receive the return will be deducted from your refund.

Please consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. I cannot guarantee that I will receive your returned item.

Damaged artwork caused by improper packaging will not be refunded.

 

Do you accept exchanges?

Exchanges are not available for any item.

 

Can I get a refund on my item?

After an item has been successfully returned (see above, ‘Do you accept returns?’), the buyer will receive a refund within 5 business days.

 

When will I get my refund?

When the item has been successfully returned in good condition, the buyer will be notified. Please allow 5 business days to receive a full refund.

 

I have not received my refund

If you haven’t received a refund within 5 business days of my receiving your return (see above, ‘When will I get my refund?’, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your debit/credit card company; it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you have done all of this and still have not yet received your refund, please contact me at [email protected], and the issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

Shipping

 

How long do orders take to process?

Before shipping, an order must be processed. For originals, processing typically takes 3-5 business days. Hand-embellished prints are typically processed in 1-2 weeks.

Custom or commissioned pieces may require additional processing time, which will be communicated at the time of purchase.



How will I know when my item has been shipped?

Buyers will receive email notification when their order has been processed and shipped.

 

How long do items take to ship?

Shipping times will vary greatly depending on where you live, and they do not include processing times: 

UK: 2-3 working days

Rest of the world: 5-7 working days

Customs may occasionally case delays during international shipping, for which I am not responsible.

What about customs fees/import tax?

When shipping internationally, customs fees/import taxes may apply. The buyer is responsible for paying any customs fees/import taxes incurred. I am not responsible for any delays due to customs.

Care Instructions

 

DO NOT:

Do not attempt to clean the surface by using solvents or cleaning products of any kind.

Cleaning liquids may embed the dirt into the painting and cause permanent liquid lines over the surface. You are discouraged from using any liquid, including water, to clean the surface of your artwork. Never use dry or moist dust cloths, stiff bristle brushes or feather dusters to clean a painting as threads can catch on areas of raised paint and dusters can scratch the painting.

Avoid spraying any fresheners, polish etc. directly onto a painting.

Ultraviolet light should be kept away from the paintings as fugitive dyes and colorants used in paints will eventually discolour under exposure to this type of light. The fading of pigments and dyes will affect the colour balance of the artwork.

 

DO:

Do use compressed air in a can to blow away surface dust, but do not spray too closely to the artwork. Another technique involves using a dry soft sable brush to lightly brush the surface in order to dislodge dust while holding a vacuum, off the surface, to capture and remove debris. Use a delicate brush to gently remove surface dirt from your artwork.

Be careful not to bump or scratch the painting. If the paint is damaged in any way, completely avoid dusting.

The best type of light for your painting is indirect sunlight, recessed lighting, and halogen lights (not ultraviolet).

Copyright

 

What is copyright?

Copyright is a legal right granted to creators of original works, including art, music, literature, etc. It gives the creator exclusive rights to use, reproduce, and distribute their work.

 

Do I own the copyright to the original artwork I purchase?

When you purchase an original piece of artwork, you own the physical object. However, Aimee Birch retains the copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. This means that Aimee Birch holds the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the work.

 

Can I make copies of the artwork I purchase?

No, purchasing an original artwork does not grant you the right to make copies or reproduce the image. Only Aimee Birch has the right to reproduce their work unless they grant you a license or transfer copyright to you.

 

Can I use the artwork I purchase in my business or marketing materials?

Using the artwork for commercial purposes, including in business or marketing materials, requires permission from Aimee Birch. This will involve negotiating a licensing agreement.

 

What is a licensing agreement?

A licensing agreement is a contract where the artist grants you specific rights to use their copyrighted work under defined conditions. This might include the right to reproduce the image for certain purposes, for a specified period, or in specific geographic areas.

 

How do I obtain permission to use the artwork?

To obtain permission, you should contact Aimee Birch directly to discuss your intended use. Aimee Birch may provide a written license agreement outlining the terms and any fees associated with the use.

 

Can I resell the original artwork I purchase?

Yes, you can resell the original artwork that you own. However, the copyright remains with Aimee Birch, and the new owner also cannot reproduce or distribute the artwork without permission.

 

What should I do if I see someone using the artist’s work without permission?

If you believe someone is using the artist’s work without permission, you should inform Aimee Birch at [email protected].

Do you sell prints?

Prints are available on a variety of surfaces, purchasable in my Print Shop.

Hand embellished prints are available for purchase on the Products page.

 

What is a hand embellished print?

A hand embellished print is high quality printed replica of an original artwork, for example on fine art paper or canvas, which I have added to by hand. This may involve adding texture with layers of paint or collage. In effect, every hand embelished print is an original piece, as every one is completely unique (but without the price-tag of an original artwork!). 

 

Do you sell merchandise?

Merchandise items, such as magnets, patches, and homeware, are available for purchase in my Print Shop.

How do I request a custom artwork/commission?

How much does a custom artwork cost?

The cost of a custom artwork varies greatly depending on subject, size, and materials. Pricing will be discussed after the initial email consultation.
